6 Ideas for a Peaceful, Stress-Less Home

Does your home ever stress you out? Is your home a place of rest and relaxation or a source of anxiety? Did you know that the environment you live in on a daily basis deeply impacts your overall health and well-being? I believe our home should be a place of comfort and calm- a true retreat from a sometimes crazy world! Today I want to share with you six ideas for creating a more peaceful, stress-free home:

1. Less Clutter

The easiest way to create a more peaceful home is by taking some time to clear out any excess clutter that may be crowding your spaces. Piles of miscellaneous items around the house can really add anxiety to your life, so take some time to clear out the clutter!

2. Calm Colors

Select a soft, soothing color palette for your home, or consider using layers of neutral tones for a more peaceful home. Bright colors or busy patterns will add “visual noise” to your home.

3. More Comfort

Layer on luxurious pillows, throw blankets, and soft linens- select comfortable sofas, chairs, mattresses, and seating pieces. The more comfort you can add to your home the better!

4. Add Natural Elements

Bring the outdoors inside with various live plants, trees, and fresh flowers. Open your blinds and shutters to let in as much natural light as possible! Adding natural elements to your home will lower stress levels and add beauty to every room of your house!

5. Soft Music

Add a peaceful, relaxing ambiance to your home with soft music- nothing will create a mood quite like great music!

6. Candles

I love to use aromatherapy in our home with beautifully scented candles- research has shown that fragrances like lavender, citrus, and eucalyptus can actually help lower anxiety.
