The Perfect Coastal Cottage…HGTV Dreamhouse 2015!!

HGTV and decorator Linda Woodrum have done it again!  This year's dream home is gorgeous, and the best part is that it's in the coastal cottage style…my favorite!!

The setting this year couldn't be more perfect…Martha's Vineyard, and as much as I love Florida, if we win the house (which I feel almost certain we will win this year!!), I could easlily see us living there (in the summer- too cold in the winter for me 🙂

Here are my 10 favorite things from the main living area:

1. The Floorplan- I really like the layout and floorplan of this year's house…it's very livable- not too big but it feels spacious thanks to the beautiful soaring vaulted ceilings, I love one big open living area that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen into one big space!

2. Vintage beams on the vaulted ceilings for instant character and charm.

3. The classic blue and white color scheme, inspired by Chinese blue and white porcelain…I'm totally in love with those big blue pillows on the white sofa- I have a feeling these might be popping up at Starfish Cottage soon!

4. The oversized lantern as a chandelier in the kitchen…gorgeous!

5. The small but beautifully efficient white kitchen…just like mine!

6. I really like all the silver accents she used throughout, like these silver framed fish for artwork.

7. The fabulous bead board walls and painted woodwork throughout the home, and the attention to detail adds so much cottage charm and character to this brand new house!

8. Love the use of white and neutrals with pops of color- just like my 80/20 Style at Starfish Cottage!

9. Love the large vase on the dining table filled with tall fresh cut branches.

10. Love the large white ceramic gourd lamps and dark end tables and coffee table- great contrast!

I have a feeling that many of these design ideas will be popping up around Starfish Cottage in the near future…don't you love it when you see a home that totally inspires you!?
