Coastal Living Room Makeover -

Thanks for joining me today for my big "Living Room Makeover Reveal"!

I have slowly been transforming our Living Room/Dining Room area into a lighter, brighter, more "coastal" feeling space- and the Living Room is mostly done.

Here's what it looked like before:

Most recently it was done in a pretty blue and white color scheme…with navy and white pillows, chinese export porcelain, etc…

Most of my furniture I have had for YEARS and was in darker wood tones and the French Country style…as much as I love that look, I was ready for a lighter, more casual look in these rooms…so after selling a few pieces on Craigslist (and buying and painting a few pieces on Craigslist) here's what it looks like today:

I have gone with white painted coffee and end tables, a pair of creamy white armchairs and an aqua and khaki color scheme!

Much lighter and brighter, wouldn't you say?!

Other details include this fabulous new white heron painting over the sofa, which is flanked by two white shutters (more on this project later!)

I added two new aqua pillows with a few older khaki and cream pillows for a fresh look on the sofa!

I also added two white gourd lamps (from my Master Bedroom) to the end tables with touches of silver and seagrass.

I picked up two cottage-style arm chairs on Craigslist for $15 each, painted them white and had simple gathered slipcovers made for the seats- they turned out so cute!!

I know you saw these candlesticks last month, but they were meant for this coffee table in the living room- I am just LOVING the touches of silver and mercury glass in here- it really makes the room sparkle and come to life!
